  Injured Bat

  i just have to share this because it has entered my mind every day for nearly a month.. on the way back to my car, there was a bat on the ground.

  i stopped to get a closer look.

  it turned it's head looked up at me and hissed.

  Call the professionals/animal shelter or whatever you have in the US. Never touch a bat without proper gloves due to the Rabies problem.

  Here in the UK a girl picked up a bat that had fallen from the rafters during a church service and it bit her. It was a Pipistrelle, less than 2 inches long. She caught Rabies and although she survived she had to be put into a coma for weeks to allow her body to recover; there is no treatment or drugs for Rabies.

  Russell did not discover or invent the pyramid inch but 'borrowed' it from previous work, mostly by Charles Piazzi Smyth, Royal Astronomer of Scotland, (See Wikipedia), and John Taylor.

  As a Witness were you allowed to eat Easter eggs AFTER Easter and only if smashed up first??

  my favourite was a humpty dumpty full of mm's....but we could only buy them after easter and if we broke them up....my mothers orders.....tonnes of half price eggs after easter..

  Always eaten Cadbury's chocholate eggs, nothing pagan there, just a British tradition! Eat Easter eggs if TESCO reduce them enough and always get a few bargains from the Jewish counter after Passover.

  Even a Christian has to look for the bargains!

  at a young age i remember watching tv and commenting why is the red cross always helping people and we don't.

  the second big one is if the witnesses only started up in 1890 - 1900 did jehovah not have anyone else doing the preaching work?.

  as a child i don't think we think about theological problems so what tipped you off?

  OUTLAW - What a fabulous Stones photo! They must have had a lot of fun in life. To look that 'worn' how do you think they spent their summer holidays? I certainly never saw them when I sat for hours freezing and wet at Wembley Stadium. George Melley once asked Jagger why his face was so wrinkled, he replied they are not wrinkles but 'laughter lines'. Melley said 'nothing could be that funny!'

  CO visit provides preview of April generation change!

  i thought the april wt's brazen generation doctrine change would barely get an official mention before nor after the two paragraphs that deal with it, but yesterday i went to the circuit overseer's visit and in a talk from a bethel outline, he specifically mentioned the change, and i quote... "the very very very newest information we have available, from the april 15th 2010 watchtower!

  " ..reads the infamous paragraphs.. and then, "isn't that wonderful brothers and sisters?

  so now we understand that it means that brother russell's life overlapped with brother rutherford's who's life overlapped (he went through them all), so clearly, this means the end is near.".

  June 15, 2010 WT "United in Love - AGM" Page 5, Jack Barr gives talk which says specifically TWO lives -

  "We do not know the exact length of 'this generation' but it includes these two groups whose lives overlap. Even though the anointed vary in age those in the two groups constituting the generation are contempoaries during part of the last days."

  Even so there are younger ones on the GB that have another 40 years in them before they have to ditch 1914!

  it was only this past weekend that i finally stated (both aloud and in print) that i would never attend another meeting again.

  like many brothers before me, i have decided to symbolize this new dedication to freedom for myself and my family with a beard..

  Apparently 'Ban the Beard' began with J F Rutherford in the early 1920's as lots of brothers were growing beards in the style of C T Russell and thus demonstrating an allegiance to his predecessor!

  Probably only appreciated by Rolling Stones fans!

  This is my first post to introduce myself, I was raised in the 'truth' and I am now in my 60's. Just cannot leave at this stage due to family, especially a very nice but zealous wife. If only the internet had been around 40 years ago. I have learned so much this last couple of years regarding the organisation and its closet full of skeletons. Anyway I will be putting my 'two pennoth' in I am sure.
